Denver, Colorado - July 01, 2013 - Architosh, the leading online publication devoted to Mac and iOS CAD and 3D professionals and students worldwide, has recognized GTeam by Gehry Technologies with its BEST of SHOW Award for BIM software at the American Institute of Architects’ National Convention.

GTeam– an online project collaboration and file sharing technology – is the latest offering from Gehry Technologies (GT), the pioneering software development and consulting firm founded by acclaimed architect Frank Gehry. GT drew on decades of experience in advanced BIM project collaboration in developing GTeam. By leveraging new cloud based distribution, open BIM and Web geometry standards, and emerging social media paradigms, the firm is now hoping to provide a simple, low cost and accessible approach to BIM design and construction to a wide audience.

In recognizing GTeam for its inaugural BIM Software award, Architosh applied new forward-looking criteria for evaluating apps that capture perspectives from a wider, leading edge lens. Pete Evans, AIA, senior associate editor, and Anthony Frausto-Robledo, AIA, LEED AP, editor-in-chief, used a wide variety of inputs and reflections on trends and forward-thinking agendas in selecting GTeam. “The latest version of GTeam now works across both Mac and Windows desktop delivering key features equally and on mobile devices like iPad as well,” stated Anthony Frausto-Robledo, AIA, LEED AP. “This is an extremely robust offering with proprietary model optimization technologies, excellent communication and dashboard features, and powerful features like live sectioning and snapshots for 3D BIM model investigation, discussion and markup.” “We are honored to receive Architosh’ recognition of our vision for simple, ubiquitous access to BIM” stated Dennis Shelden, Chief Technology Officer of Gehry Technologies. “By supporting Mac and iOS platforms with GTeam, we hope to expand access to the benefits of BIM beyond the modeling community to project designers, managers, construction personnel and building operators”.
